University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino spent the day at the Peach Jam and then the Best of the Best in Charlotte, N.C., tracking several of the Cardinals' top targets on Saturday.
Here's a recap of the fourth day of the evaluation period for the U of L staff:
Pitino and Kenny Johnson started the day in Augusta, Ga., making a trip to see 2018 target Brandon Slater with Team Takeover 16s and 2019 prospect R.J. Barrett - the No. 1 player in the Class of 2019 nationally - with UPlay Canada 16s.
The U of L coaches then watched top 2017 target Brandon Randolph get nine points for PSA Cardinals in the Peach Jam quarterfinals. Randolph had 16 points and four rebounds later in a semifinal win over Team Penny.
The PSA Cardinals will play for the Peach Jam title on Sunday.
Pitino and Johnson then traveled to Charlotte to watch 2018 targets Anfernee Simons and Elijah Weaver with Team Breakdown. Both players had solid outings in the Breakdown win and both are coming off big showings at the Under Armour camp.
Pitino then called it a day, traveling back home.
U of L assistant coach David Padgett has been in Philadelphia since Friday morning and is tracking Fort Wayne, Ind., center Malik Williams. The Cardinals' staff will see every game of Williams' this week.
The third assistant - Mike Balado - started his day in Spartanburg, S.C., and ended in Atlanta.
Balado watched Mass Rivals and top target Makai Ashton-Langford win the adidas Gauntlet series. He had 16 points and six rebounds along with four assists in the title game.
He also saw Romeo Langford and Darius Perry in South Carolina and made his way to Atlanta to catch Perry and Victory Uyaelunmo, a 7-foot prospect from the Florida Vipers.
Balado is expected in Atlanta on Sunday and Padgett in Philadelphia.
