The University of Louisville basketball staff is finished with the second of three summer evaluation periods.
And while the Cardinals staff spent time evaluating a lot of prospects last week, it became clearer the top targets on the board for the Class of 2017. The U of L staff didn't miss a game of several players.
The Cardinals were there for every game played in the Atlanta-area by Fort Wayne, Ind., big man Malik Williams and Marietta, Ga., point guard Darius Perry. Mass Rivals point guard Makai Ashton-Langford played in the Augusta, Ga., area and was watched by Rick Pitino and Mike Balado one afternoon and then Kenny Johnson spent two days with him.
The other top targets watched were Alex O'Connell and Lance Thomas, who played in the D.C. area with Team United. The U of L staff didn't miss a game of the two targets with Kenny Johnson and David Padgett splitting up time there.
Two other point guard targets - Lindell Wiggington (Canada) and Matt Coleman (U.S.) - were with their respective teams preparing for the U18 World Championships, while Brandon Randolph, Brandon McCoy or Makhtar Gueye didn't play this week.
The staff will be back on the road on Wednesday night.
