It's going to be a bit of a quiet third evaluation period for the University of Louisville basketball staff.
Five of the 10 remaining targets in the Class of 2017 for the Cardinals will not be playing this week during the evaluation period, which begins on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. and runs through Sunday.
Team United guard Alex O'Connell and power forward Lance Thomas both confirmed for Cardinal Authority that they'll not participate in the AAU Super Showcase in Orlando, Fla., instead resting up for the Nike Skills Academy that begins on Monday in Los Angeles.
Westtown, Pa., wing Brandon Randolph didn't play last week and also won't play until the Skills Academy.
Point guard targets Lindell Wigginton (Canada) and Matt Coleman (U.S.) are both in Chile playing in the 18-Under World Championships.
But the U of L staff will still be out and about this week.
U of L coach Rick Pitino is expected to start the week in Orlando, Fla., watching top center target Malik Williams in the Super Showcase. The Cardinals have been to each of his 18 games this summer.
Top point guard targets Darius Perry and Makai Ashton-Langford will both be participating in the adidas Summer Championships in Las Vegas. The two could square off in a game on Thursday if they both win on Wednesday night.
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on all the happenings during the live period.
