Louisville junior began career as a quarterback, but is now playing wide receiver

Louisville junior Reggie Bonnafon began his career at quarterback, but will now line up as a slot receiver

Louisville junior Reggie Bonnafon, a four-star quarterback out of Trinity a few years ago, is now a full-time wide receiver.

Position changes can create a bit of turmoil within a team, especially when it involves a quarterback.  However, that is anything but the case with Bonnafon.  He's actually used to change.  With the exception of the offensive and defensive front, Bonnafon has played just about every other position on the field during his career.

On Tuesday, the day prior to start of preseason camp, Bonnafon met with the media to discuss the position change.

"I'm just really grateful that the coaches believe in my athletic ability to even change my position to begin with," said Bonnafon. "I'm enjoying it. You have to play fast. Whichever position the coaches put me in, I'm going to give it my best effort and try to produce."

He'll enter camp with the first team receivers and is expected to spend most of his time working from the slot position.

"I'm excited to see Reggie and his development as a receiver," said head coach Bobby Petrino. "He's still very talented, so we're going to find ways to get the ball in his hands as much as we can and know that he'll be a real playmaker for us."
