Cardinal Authority provides a look at Louisville's defensive line heading into fall camp

The departure of Sheldon Rankins to the NFL is a significant void to fill, but the Louisville staff has a number of talented athletes that are climbing the depth chart and ready for their turn to shine.

Preseason All-ACC defensive tackle DeAngelo Brown highlights the Cardinals front three.  Brown has notched 16 career starts and had a career-best season in 2015.  Junior Kyle Shortridge, appeared in all 13 games last fall, will serve as reserve tackle.

Juniors Drew Bailey and Johnny Richardson lead the way as the two defensive ends, but competition is expected to continue through fall camp.  Redshirt freshman G.G. Robinson and junior college transfer Chris Williams, who enrolled in January, will give a push for notable reps this fall.

True freshman Kordell Slater enrolled in January, so he'll also have an opportunity to impress during fall camp.  Two additional rookies, Derek Dorsey and Caleb Tillman join the team for fall camp and will provide quality depth along the front line.
