Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino visits with media for more than 20 minutes

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino at the Cardinals annual media day on Saturday morning

University of Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino met with the media for more than 20 minutes on Saturday morning as the football program held its annual media day.

Following three days of split practices, a group of newcomers and another with primarily returning players, the team will work together for the first time this camp on Saturday afternoon.

"It's fun to be in camp," Petrino said.  "I'm enjoying it.  The first three days of the split practices have been really good for our new guys because they are getting used to all the drills and understand a little bit more about the tempo of practice and what's expected of them."

Saturday's practice at 3:00p.m. will be open for fans to attend.

** Sophomore Cornelius Sturghill will be out for the season.  He was injured while visiting his home in Memphis, Tenn., this summer when a drive-by shooting occurred.  Sturghill, who had contemplated not returning home for the off-season, was hit in the foot by a stray bullet as he attempted to run away from the scene.

** Former Georgia signee Gary McCrae has been cleared to play and is currently en route to Louisville.  He's expected to join the team on Sunday.
