The first week of the season means the first depth chart of the new year.
Louisville has released its first depth chart of the new season without a lot of surprises on either side of the ball.
Sophomore Evan O'Hara is listed as the starting kicker and redshirt freshman Mason King as the punter. Both of those positions were still up in the air coming out of fall camp, King will also be the holder for special teams.
On offense, Lamar Jackson will be backed up by Kyle Bolin at quarterback. Freshman Jawon Pass is one of just three true freshmen listed on the offensive side of the ball. Pass is listed as the No. 3 quarterback, while Seth Dawkins listed as a No. 3 wide receiver.
The offensive line will be manned by Geron Christian, Tobijah Hughley, Khalil Hunter, Kiola Mahoni and Lukayus McNeil with Tyler Haycraft or Linwood Foy listed as backups to Christian, Chandler Jones listed as Hunter's backup, Kenny Thomas listed as the backup for Mahoni and Toriano Roundtree and Danny Burns listed as McNeil's backup.
True freshman Robbie Bell and Nathan Scheler are listed as Hughley's backups at center.
The defense has just one surprise and that's Stacy Thomas, who missed most of fall camp, listed as the starter at linebacker. He's listed at the position with Keith Kelsey, Devonte Fields and James Hearns.
Drew Bailey and DeAsian Richardson are the defensive ends and DeAngelo Brown the defensive tackle.
The safeties are Josh Harvey-Clemons and Chucky Williams, while Jaire Alexander and Trumaine Washington are corners. Alexander is listed as the No. 1 punt and kick returner.
