University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was in Orlando, Fla., on Monday watching several prospects.
Among the targets he was watching was Canadian guard Luguentz Dort at The Conrad Academy. Louisville had offered Dort - a Class of 2018 prospect - back in the spring but after watching him work out, Pitino confirmed the offer to the prospect.
"He showed me a lot of stuff on Louisville basketball," Dort said. "I feel like he really wants me.
"He was just telling me he will follow me and wants me at Louisville."
The 6-foot-4 Dort, who attended Arlington Country Day in Jacksonville, Fla., last year, was a dominating guard on the adidas circuit this summer. He played for the Brookwood Elite program.
Dort also has offers from Florida, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Missouri and Baylor. He's trying to set up a visit to Florida and said during the summer he would like to get to Louisville for a game this season.
U of L has a connection to Dort. He played for Shaun Wiseman, who coached current U of L player Anas Mahmoud in high school, at Arlington Country Day and is now his coach at The Conrad Academy.
