5 players to watch for on the Florida State Seminoles team that Louisville will play host to on Saturday at noon on ABC

Cardinal Authority gets you prepared for this week's ACC top-10 match up between the Louisville Cardinals and the Florida State Seminoles. We take a look at five players to watch for on the Seminoles roster. The game is slated for noon on Saturday.

The University of Louisville football team faces what head coach Bobby Petrino called a "major test" when the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles come to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium for a noon kickoff on Saturday.

But the Seminoles will be missing a huge key to their defense.

Derwin James, who was No. 3 on Cardinal Authority's list of the top five players Louisville would face during the 2016 season, had surgery on his left knee on Monday and will be out for at least a month.

James had 91 tackles last season, including six and a sack in a win over Louisville in Tallahassee, Fla.

But it's not like the Seminoles don't have some other stars on the roster.

And Cardinal Authority has you covered on all of the takes of the game. Here's a look at five players to watch for on Saturday night when the Seminoles play Louisville in a top-10 matchup.

1. Dalvin Cook, Jr., Running Back

Cook is one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy. He missed a game last season and still led the ACC with 1,691 yards and 19 touchdowns and has 174 yards and two TDs in two games this season.. He had 163 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the Seminoles 41-21 victory over the Cardinals last season. He's just over 1,000 yards away from breaking Warrick Dunn's rushing record at Florida State. Cook is a playmaker and is the key for the Louisville defense.

2. Demarcus Walker, Sr., Defensive end

With no James, Walker will have an even bigger role this week trying to get some pressure on U of L quarterback Lamar Jackson. Walker had 10.5 sacks as a junior and already has 4.5 this season. He is one of the top defensive players in the country and Louisville must block him or at least keep him away from the big plays on Saturday.

3. Deondre Francois, Fr., Quarterback

All the redshirt-freshmen has done in the first two weeks of his career is draw comparisons to former Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. Francois was named Davey O'Brein National QB of the Week after his efforts against Ole Miss in the opener. He's completed 58 of 84 passes for 681 yards and five touchdowns in two games. But this is his first major road test.

4.  Travis Rudolph, Jr., Wide Receiver

Rudolph is the fifth active leading receiver in the ACC and is a big-play guy for the Seminoles on offense. He already has 13 catches for 179 yards and three TDs in two games this season.

5. Alec Eberle, So., Center

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Eberle will be a huge key for the Seminoles on the offensive side of the ball. He'll be lined up against DeAngelo Brown all afternoon and if Brown is contained by the Seminoles that will change the outlook for the Cardinals.
