University of Louisville basketball commitment Darius Perry received a visit from his future coach on Wednesday.
U of L coach Rick Pitino and assistant coach Mike Balado stopped in to Marietta, Ga., Wheeler High School and watched Perry and his teammate - Jordan Tucker - during an evening workout.
The 6-foot-2 Perry, who visited Louisville on Aug. 3 and committed two weeks later, said he felt like he played well in front of Pitino.
"It was really good seeing him," Perry said. "I got a chance to talk to him and he thought I looked good and named specific things he liked that I did today. He just told me to keep doing what I'm doing."
Perry, ranked as the No. 76 player in the Scout.com top 100 of the Class of 2017, picked U of L over Georgia. He had more than 20 total scholarship offers. He ranks as the No. 16 point guard in the country.
Pitino also watched Tucker, who recently transferred to Wheeler and was offered by the Cardinals. Perry said that "I guess you could say I am recruiting," Tucker to come to Louisville with him.
"I've talked to him about it a couple of times," Perry said. "Of course, I would want him at Louisville with me but if that's not where he feels completely comfortable then I understand. But I definitely manage to bring it up."
