Jurich opened his remarks by asking the audience to raise their hands to show support for keeping the annual football contest with the University of Kentucky as the opening game of the season for both state schools.
By unanimous vote, the entire Cardinal nation in attendance supported keeping the game first on the schedule.
Head Coach Bob Petrino then addressed the crowd and introduced his staff and team captains. Petrino mentioned the hard work and long hours the team and staff have been putting in since fall camp began earlier this month and noted that the players would be looking forward to the start of school next week.

"We will be ready to go next Sunday night at 6:30," Petrino said.
Jurich noted several developments for Cardinal Athletics.
