But this one was different. The Louisville Waggener High School 2018 four-star defensive tackle attended the Louisville vs. Florida State game last weekend and said the atmosphere was "so crazy."
"The atmosphere definitely felt different; it was a big-game atmosphere," Rice said. "It was a statement for the Cards.
"They came out and played hard right away and really set the tone and then played like some dogs out there."
Rice, who also attended the opener against Charlotte earlier in the month, said Louisville is making him feel like a priority.
The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Rice now has nine scholarship offers, including Louisville. He also has offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Boston College, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee State and Miami (Ohio).
Rice will make a visit this weekend to Notre Dame.
"To be honest, it felt great to be at Louisville and that showed me how much fun it would be to play at home," Rice said. "I feel like they do really want me. But there's a long way (until he picks a school). I have to do what's best for me."
Rice is ranked as the No. 173 prospect in the country and the No. 15 defensive tackle. He's the No. 1 DT in the Midwest.
