It's a new season for the Louisville Cardinals basketball program.
The Cardinals, who finished last season 23-8, is coming off a postseason when the school instituted a self-imposed ban because of the ongoing NCAA investigation. Louisville also docked itself two scholarships for this season and cut recruiting days during the summer.
While the NCAA investigation is still ongoing, the Cardinals are ready to move on in the new season.
Rick Pitino told Cardinal Authority last month he was "so excited to get going" with his team this season because of the talent and potential he has coming back on the roster.
"I'm excited," Pitino said. "This team is going to be fun. We are inexperienced but we are going to be deep and we have a lot of athleticism. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but this team is hungry and driven to succeed."
The Cardinals officially started practice on Monday morning, using the first day as a double session. U of L is expected to also have a double session on Tuesday and then get a few days off before getting back at it this weekend.
U of L's first public appearance will be next Wednesday in a Red-White scrimmage.
