Louisville has been tabbed fourth in the preseason ACC media poll; Duke is the top-ranked team heading into the season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The University of Louisville basketball team has been tabbed as the No. 4 pick in the preseason ACC media poll. Duke is the preseason conference favorite, followed by North Carolina and Virginia.

The University of Louisville basketball team was tabbed to finish fourth in the ACC preseason poll of media.

The poll was released on Wednesday during the ACC Media Day at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Downtown Charlotte. Duke picked up 85 of the 91 first-place votes and is the preseason favorite. This is the 16th time Duke has been picked to win the league in the 48 years.

North Carolina was tabbed No. 2, while Virginia edged out U of L for the third spot. 

The rest of the poll: Syracuse, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Boston College.

Duke's Grayson Allen was named Preseason Player of the Year, while N.C. State's  Dennis Smith was named Rookie of the Year.
