Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was named a Davey O'Brein Award semifinalist; award to nation's top QB

University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named a Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist. He leads the nation with 45 total touchdowns and is a semifinalist for the award given to the nation's top QB.

Lamar Jackson has wowed people with his play on the field the entire season.

Now, the University of Louisville sophomore quarterback is going to start reaping the rewards with some honors. With three regular-season games left, Jackson has picked up his first honor.

Jackson, who has accounted for 25 total touchdowns, has been named a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Award. The award is given annual to the nations top signal caller.

"We think he's the best," U of L coach Bobby Petrino said earlier in the week.

Jackson has rushed for 19 TDs and passed for 26 on the season in nine games.

Louisville hosts Wake Forest on Saturday night at 7 o'clock.
