Here's the Q&A with Simons:

Cardinal Authority: You made your commitment public on Saturday, when did you know Louisville was the place for you?

Simons: "I've really known it for probably a couple of months. I was just trying to decide when I was going to let everyone know my decision. I just decided go up there and do it now."

CA: What put Louisville over the top? Why did you decide it was the best spot for you?

Simons: "It was just the relationships that I have built with the coaches. I really like the entire coaching staff and coach P is the best."

CA: What was it about coach Pitino that you liked so much?

Simons: "Coach P told me how things are going to happen. He tells you like it is and when he tells you something it's all good. Louisville is just a great situation for me because he’s a Hall of Fame coach."

CA: What did coach Pitino tell you that he liked about your game the most?

Simons: "He loved my game and the way I can shoot the ball. He really likes shooters and told me that with what I can do on offense that I can come in and make a big impact right away."

CA: So what did he say on Saturday when you committed?

Simons: I actually told him a week or two ago that I was coming up to do it. I called coach P and told him that I wanted to make it official when I was up there for the visit. He was very excited. He sounded really happy."

CA: So how was the visit and what did you take out of the weekend?

Simons: "Just being able to see everything was great for me. I was able to see a lot more stuff than the last time I was there. We went to the footnball game and going to an actual (basketball) game was really cool. I'm really excited."

CA: Was it exciting to watch your future teammates?

Simons: "I was just thinking about that today. I was watching them practice and started thinking that pretty soon I'm going to be one of those guys. I can't wait to get there to play with them. I made the right choice."

CA: You are the first commitment in the '18 class, will you start recruiting some guys?

Simons: "Yes, I am going to start recruiting some. I just want to let everyone know about Louisville."
