Louisville signee Malik Williams added quite an honor on Tuesday.
The 7-foot Williams, one of four signees with the Cardinals last week, has been named as one of 50 players nationally - in any class - to the Naismith Trophy watch list for Boys' High School National Player of the Year.
Williams is a leading contender for Mr. Basketball in the state of Indiana after averaging 21.2 points, 13.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocks as a junior.
The Player of the Year and the All-American teams will be announced in March by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
Williams is the lone U of L signee on the list, but several future targets including New Albany, Ind., star 2018 prospect Romeo Langford is also one of the players up for the national honor.
Other U of L targets on the list include: 2018 forward Silvio De Sousa, 2019 forward Matthew Hurt and '18 guard Immanuel Quickley.
