OL Garrett Windham receiving attention from Cards

ITV Recruiting Exclusive - Offensive lineman Garrett Windham of Straughn High School in Andalusia, Alabama has noticed an increase in interest from the Louisville coaching staff the past few weeks.

At 6'5, 280-pounds, Garrett Windham has the size that will attract attention of recruiting coordinators around the region. Garrett, who spoke with ITV on Tuesday evening, informed us that Louisville is among the programs that have started to express an interest in him.

"For the past two weeks I have been getting two or three letters a week from them," said Windham of Louisville's interest.

This spring Windham attended camps at Middle Tennessee State, Troy State and Southern Miss, as well as the team camp at Alabama. His busy camp schedule has proven to pay dividends so far.

The Struaghn High School senior offensive guard has also received consistent interest from Southern Miss, Central Florida, Troy State and Middle Tennessee State.

While he has yet to receive any scholarship offers, Louisville indicated in a recent letter to him that one of the Cardinal coaches is planning on being in the area soon and that they are looking forward to seeing him play.

When the U of L coach does attend a Straughn game, Windham won't be the only prospect on team that will be watched. Running back Michael Hobbs is also a member of the Straughn team, as well as being one of Windham's closest friends.

"We've known each other since kindergarten," said Windham. "It would be really great to play at the same college as him."

While Hobbs recently indicated that Louisville was one of his favorites, Windham told ITV that he likes Southern Miss the most right now, but that he plans on taking all of his official visits prior to making a decision.
