Grenada, Miss., four-star safety C.J. Avery made an official visit to the University of Louisville recently and on Sunday night had Bobby Petrino and U of L assistant coach Cort Dennison in his home for a visit.
Petrino and Dennison made the visit to see Avery, who finished up his official visit with Mississippi State on Saturday.
Avery told Cardinal Authority last week that he "really likes Louisville a lot," and a source close to the situation said the in-home with Petrino went "perfect" on Sunday night.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Avery has narrowed his list to U of L, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Auburn. He's visited all except Ole Miss and told Genespage.com after the Mississippi State visit that it was likely his last.
Avery is expected to make a decision on Dec. 14 and will enroll at a school in January.
"I think I am probably done taking visits," Avery said. "I am just going to take some time now and get ready to make my decision. I still have my same top four. I just have to make my decision now and go to the place that fits me the best."
Avery is ranked as the No. 227 player in the country by Scout.com and is playing this week in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game to be held in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday.
