Louisville commitment C.J. Avery was impressive on the first day of the Under Armour All-American game practice

ORLANDO, Fla. - Louisville commitment C.J. Avery was impressive on the first day of the Under Armour All-American game practice at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

University of Louisville commitment C.J. Avery was impressive on the first day of Under Armour practices at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex on Wednesday morning.

The four-star safety from Grenada, Miss., was impressive in ball drills and held his own against some of the best wide receivers in the country throughout the practice for the Highlight Team.

"I felt like I did really well," Avery said. "I had to first get adjusted to the speed, these are some great guys out here."

Avery showed his versatility to the Under Armour staff, jumping in at one of the linebacker positions when needed.

"The coaches said they were short at sam linebacker and asked if I could do it," he said. "I said sure. I'm versatile."

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Avery said he will enroll at U of L on Jan. 6 and will participate in spring practice with the Cardinals. He committed to U of L on Dec. 14 but there has since been rumors of him perhaps flipping to Ole Miss.

Avery said on Tuesday and confirmed again on Wednesday that his recruitment is over.

Avery checks in as the No. 228 player in the country and is the No. 1 safety in Mississippi and No. 22 safety in the country.
