Brentwood, Tenn., Academy linebacker Jack Sirmon and Bothell, Wash., quarterback Jacob Sirmon are cousins who are elite Class of 2018 football recruits and currently committed to the University of Washington.
But now there's a twist in the recruiting process.
Peter Sirmon - the father of Jack and uncle of Jacob - was named defensive coordinator at the University of Louisville. The former Oregon and Tennessee Titans linebacker comes to the Cardinals after one season at Mississippi State.
Both of the younger Sirmons figure now to be major targets for the U of L staff.
Jack Sirmon is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound three-star linebacker who committed to Washington on Dec. 29. He also had offers from Wisconsin, Vanderbilt and Memphis among others.
His grandfather played for the Huskies in the 1960s and his father was the linebackers coach at Washington in 2012 and 2013.
Jacob Sirmon is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound four-star quarterback and ranks as the No. 40 player overall in the Class of 2018 by Scout.com. He's the No. 3 quarterback in the class. He was offered by the Louisville staff on Dec. 28.
He's been committed to Washington since last December and also has offers from Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, UCLA and others.
