As he completed his official visit with Louisville, four-star offensive lineman Caleb Chandler of Jefferson, Ga., announced his commitment to the Cardinals program.
"I'm done," he said. "Shutting it down for good. Decided to commit to the University of Louisville."
Rated as the No. 22 offensive guard nationally and No. 7 in the South region by Scout.com, Chandler gives U of L head coach Bobby Petrino another key offensive line recruit in the class of 2017.
Impressed during his weekend stay in Louisville, which included attending the U of L basketball team's win over Duke on Saturday, Chandler was excited when he learned of the news that Mike Summers was hired as the program's new offensive line coach. He had formed a strong relationship with Summers during his recruitment with Florida, as well as bonding with Cardinals assistant Chris Klenakis, who remains on the U of L staff.
"I absolutely love both of those guys," he told Cardinal Authority on Sunday morning. "I think it's huge that we'll have both of them to learn from."
Chandler committed to Louisville over scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and a host of others.
He's the 22nd commitment for the Cardinals class of 2017.
