Cards offer 2017 DT
Louisville has offered a scholarship to 2017 defensive tackle Mandy Alonso, who is committed to Virginia.
The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Alonso is from Miami Gulliver Prep and confirmed to Cardinal Authority that the Louisville staff was trying to get him to make an official visit this coming weekend.
Alonso said he wasn't sure about the trip.
A three-star prospect, Alonso committed to Virginia back in June over offers from South Florida, West Virginia, Syracuse, Temple, Air Force, Georgia Tech, Florida International and others.
Louisville offers Vegas 5-star linebacker
Louisville has offered one of the top prospects in the Class of 2018 - Palaie Gaoteote.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker attends Las Vegas Bishop Gorman and is a five-star prospect.
The No. 1 OLB and No. 11 overall prospect in 2018, Gaoteote has racked up dozens of DI offers, with a lot of interest coming out of the West Coast.
Offer out to '19 DB in Florida
Louisville continues to try and pull the best talent from Florida.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Scott is a defensive back and also has offers from Mississippi State, N.C. State and Dartmouth. The 6-2, 170-pound Sanguinett is a safety with offers from Mississippi State, Miami, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and others.
The two stars are classmates of '19 basketball standouts Balsa Koprivica and Vernon Carey, who both hold offers from U of L.
More Sunshine State offers
Louisville has offered a couple more prospects from the Sunshine State:
**West Palm Beach, Fla., Oxbridge Academy 2018 cornerback Keidron Smith added a U of L offer to a list that already includes Tennessee, LSU, North Carolina, Iowa State, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Syracuse and others. He's a three-star prospect.
**Four-star 2018 cornerback Tyson Campbell has landed a Louisville offer. He's the No. 158 prospect in the country by Scout.com.
Phoenix '18 standout gets first offer
Louisville is the first offer for 2018 Phoenix, Ariz., Desert Vista standout James Stagg.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Stagg has also been hearing from Arizona and Arizona State and plays tight end and defensive end.
Stagg was a Class 6-A All-State honorable mention selection as a junior at tight end.
