University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino took two assistant coaches on the road with him on Friday night, traveling to Webster Groves, Mo., to watch 2018 point guard Courtney Ramey.
The 6-foot-3 Ramey, a five-star and the No. 19 ranked player in the '18 class, has been on several unofficial visits to Louisville and Pitino has been to see him play with his high school team several times.
U of L assistants David Padgett and Mike Balado went with Pitino on Friday, while both assistant coaches and Kenny Johnson have all seen Ramey at some point during the season before tonight.
"It shows he's a priority and sometimes actions speaks louder than words," Ramey's father, Terrell, said. "You can say what people want to hear but it's another thing when you show it. They have been recruiting him hard."
In a blowout win over St. Louis University School, Ramey finished with eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
U of L has been showing the most interest, along with Texas, Creighton, Kansas State, Ohio State, Illinois and Florida.
