Louisville downed NC State 85-60 on Sunday

The Cardinals improved to 18-4 overall, 6-3 in ACC play

Louisville guard Donovan Mitchell scored 21 points in the first half and finished with 28 to lead the Cardinals to an 85-60 win against visiting NC State on Sunday afternoon.

The Cardinals connected on 50 percent of their field goal attempts, including 12 of 24 beyond the three-point arc, to pace the blowout victory.  Defensively, U of L held the Wolfpack to just 38 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers.

"Donovan is getting a chance to play his normal position, which is point guard, and you always look for a silver lining in any injury, and he's got a chance to work at that, which I think will pay a huge dividend down the road," U of L head coach Rick Pitino said. "For some reason, the last ten days or so, our offense has really looked great because of the passing they're doing and the guys looked inside, made plays, looked outside, made threes and it's fun to watch when you see good passing like that. The defense was also very good in the second half."
