Gadsden City, Ala., High School offensive lineman Toryque Bateman has been calling the University of Louisville his 'leader' for several months.
On Monday, Bateman made it official.
The 6-foot-8, 305-pound three-star offensive lineman tweeted a video that confirmed he has committed to the Cardinals. Bateman is commitment No. 22 in the Class of 2017, which will sign on Wednesday.
"The family bond there is just great," Bateman said after his official visit two weeks ago. "Not even just with the players they had there on visits but the current players. The current players came up with my parents and talked to them. It was just great."
Bateman picked U of L over Miami, Houston, Mississippi State and Michigan. He had 20 scholarship offers.
Louisville already has three other offensive linemen committed, including Belfry's Cole Bentley who is enrolled in school. Junior college lineman Ronald Rudd has already signed and will enroll in May, while Caleb Chandler will sign on Wednesday.
