University of Louisville Class of 2017 Football Class: Signed LB Malik Clark

University of Louisville Class of 2017 Football Class: Signed LB Malik Clark. Cardinal Authority takes a closer look at the Cardinals signee.

BIO: One of the under-the-radar prospects in the class, Malik Clark record 104 tackles ove the last two seasons of his play at Baldwin. He had 41 solo tackles, six assists, seven tackles for a loss, four sacks and four QB hurries as a senior. He was voted as the Region 3 4-A Defensive Player of the Year and participated in the Georgia North/South All-Star Classic.

LEAD RECRUITER: Todd Grantham/L.D. Scott

RECRUITMENT: Clark committed to U of L early on, picking the Cardinals over five other offers.

WHY U OF L: Clark committed to former defensive coordinator Todd Grantham but on his visit said he loved the school so much he wanted to stay committed.

EXPECTED MAJOR: Forensic Science

EVALUATION: Clark is an above-average athlete who has a great nose for the ball; he's a hitter and is an outside linebacker but could also play some inside linebacker if he's needed. He's a better player than just five offers and would have had more had he not been committed early.

QUOTABLE: "They said they could really use somebody like me on defense," Clark said. "I really liked it up there a lot."

BOTTOM LINE: Clark might be a guy who is a redshirt candidate but he has a bright future and will start out as an outside linebacker.
