BIO: The No. 2 ranked running back in the state of Florida, Colin Wilson rushed 561 times for 3,931 yards and 67 touchdowns during his career and averaged 7.0 yards a carry. He finished with 4,355 all-purpose yards. As as senior, Wilson had eight 100-yard games and finished with 1,466 yards and 21 TDs. Played for Team Florida in the Florida-Georgia All-Star game last June.
LEAD RECRUITER: Kolby Smith
RECRUITMENT: Wilson picked the Cardinals over Notre Dame, Florida, North Carolina, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia. He had 30 total scholarship offers before picking U of L.
WHY U OF L: Wilson said a big reason was Kolby Smith and the other was the offense of Bobby Petrino's.
EXPECTED MAJOR: Physical Therapy.
EVALUATION: Wilson is a powerful, fleet-footed runner that flashes impressive acceleration and burst when seeing daylight in the open field. He does a good job of maintaining balance and bouncing off wimpy arm tackles, and really utilizes his size and frame to his advantage. Wilson is light on his feet with some shiftiness in his game as well, but we'll see how he bounces back after battling injuries in 2015. Overall speed is an area of improvement moving forward. - Scout.com
QUOTABLE: "(Smith) just wants me to try and condition myself and he said I have a chance to come in and play right away," Wilson said. "I can work myself up there to get some playing time if I'm conditioned. Coach Kolby is a good guy. I like him a lot and he leads me in the right direction. I'm trying to get to the next level and he's played all three levels and I know that he can get me there."
BOTTOM LINE: Wilson is a game-changer and can play right away and a lot of snaps for the Cardinals.
