Trinity High School twins Jovan and Jovel Smith have committed to be preferred walk-ons at the University of Louisville.

The University of Louisville football team has landed not only one but two more stars from Trinity High Schools undefeated Class 6-A state championship team from last season.

Linebacker Isaac Martin has already committed to become a preferred walk-on and now twins Jovan and Jovel Smith are headed to the Cardinals, announcing on Friday night their commitments to walk-on.

Jovan Smith is a 6-foot, 190-pound running back and was the second-leading rusher for the Shamrocks last season with 948 yards and nine touchdowns on 6.9 yards a carry. He also had 17 catches for 185 yards and two TDs.

In the state championship win over Lafayette, Jovan Smith ran 11 times for 98 yards and two scores.

For his career, Jovan Smith had 1,420 yards rushing and 18 TDs.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Jovel Smith played receiver for the Shamrocks and could also play defensive back. He had 31 catches for 530 yards - 17.1 yards per catch - and six TDs as a senior.

Jovel Smith had 20 tackles and two fumble recoveries during his career.
