University of Louisville women's signee Dana Evans has added another honor.
The high-scoring guard from Gary, Ind., West Side leads the state of Indiana in scoring and last month was named to the McDonald's All-American game that will be played in April.
Now, Evans has been named one of the top players in the country.
The 5-foot-7 Evans, ranked as one of the top 10 players in the country by all the recruiting services, has been named a semifinalist for the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year award.
Evans averages 36.4 points a game and helped West Side to the Class 4-A Lowell Sectional, scoring 30 points in the championship game, on Saturday. West Side is one of 16 teams left in the 4-A state playoffs in the Hoosier State.
The five finalists for the award will be announced on Feb. 21 and the award will be given in March.
