One of the nation's top linemen in the 2019 class made another trip to Louisville over the weekend. Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren defensive tackle Jacob Lacey was a guest of the football program at the school's basketball game at the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday afternoon.
A frequent visitor at U of L, Lacey spent time with members of the coaching staff while watching the Cardinals battle back to defeat visiting Miami in a key ACC contest.
"Things went great at the game," he told Cardinal Authority. "Coach Summers sat next to me and hung out with Coach Scott also. Really like those guys. Coach Pete Nochta, is real cool, too."
Lacey will return to The Ville early next month to visit with Cardinals new defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon and visit the University's Speed School of Engineering.
"Yesterday was about meeting Coach Summers and continue growing my relationship with Coach Scott," he said, adding that he'll return on March 4. "I'll meet the new defensive coordinator and spend time with him. I'm also going to take a tour of the engineering department because that's what I plan to study. So I'm looking forward to March 4."
Louisville was one of the first to extend a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-2, 300-pound prospect and has since been joined by Cincinnati, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Tennessee. In addition to his upcoming return trip to Louisville, Lacey, who also plays first base for South Warren's baseball team, also has plans to visit others.
"Heading to Junior Day at Tennessee next week," he said. "Notre Dame invited me down, but not sure when. I play baseball, too, so Dad said we will slow down a bit."
