One of the top 10 prospects in the country, Gary, Ind., West Side high-scoring point guard Dana Evans saw her illustrious high school career come to an end last weekend in the Class 4-A regional semifinals.
The 5-foot-6 McDonald's All-American is already pumped about her future.
Evans, who led the state of Indiana at 36 points a game, has signed with the University of Louisville and will arrive on campus in May. She's one of three players in the signing class that is ranked among the best in the country.
"I am super excited," Evans said. "I can't wait to be around my future teammates and be coached by great coaches."
The frontrunner for Indiana Miss Basketball, Evans scored a game-high 26 points in her final game. She injured her foot early in the game but played through the pain.
Evans averaged 36 points, 7.6 rebounds. 6.2 assists and 4.5 steals a game as a senior. She scored over 30 points in 21 of 26 games and had 50-plus points in two games.
Evans finished her career with 2,832 points, good for fifth all time on the Indiana girls state scoring list.
