The list of scholarship offers for Sumner, Wash., linebacker Ben Wilson continues to grow by the week and the University of Louisville has added to his list of opportunities.
"I was kinda in shock because I would have never thought that I'd receive an offer from an ACC school," he told Cardinal Authority.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound four-star prospect has a collection of offers that consists primarily of west coast powers, including Washington State, Utah, UCLA, TCU and Arizona, but the possibility playing for the Cardinals will receive strong consideration.
"Playing in the ACC wouldn't be a problem because I've been moving locations all my life," he explained. "Also I would be excited to play against some of the best competition in college football and the teams in the ACC play great football."
U of L defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon, who played at Oregon and has coached at Washington and USC, extended the offer to Wilson. Fellow assistant Chris Klenakis is also involved in the recruitment of the Scout.com All-American.
As a junior, Wilson led the state of Washington with 201 tackles. He also recorded 16 tackles for a loss, including 8.5 sacks to help him earn first team All-State and South Puget Sound League Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Wilson is also a standout baseball player.
