One of the elite 2019 defensive line prospects in the Buckeye State. Lakota West's Steven Faucheux spent much of Saturday in Louisville attending the program's Junior Day.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive end is quickly becoming a highly sought after prospect, with multiple FBS programs extending a scholarship offer. With Louisville among that group, Faucheux took time to learn more about the Cardinals and discovered that it's a program with growth on its mind and one that has national title expectations.
"I enjoyed my visit a lot," he told Cardinal Authority. "Louisville is an exciting program that I truly think is on the come-up. With a ton of improvements coming to their facilities and field, you can really feel the energy flowing throughout the campus. Louisville is a vintage, yet modern, University with a bright future and they're definitely on my radar."
In addition to Louisville, Faucheux also holds early offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland and Tulane.
"I am enjoying the recruiting process," he said. "I've been told by many people that it's important to fall in love with the game and not the recruiting and I've been doing that."
Faucheux will travel to visit Indiana next weekend and is looking forward to this fall when college coaches can have more contact with him.
"I'm looking forward to September when schools can start talking to me," he said.
