University of Louisville women's basketball signee Dana Evans is a finalist for National Player of the Year.
The high-scoring 5-foot-6 McDonald's All-American was named on Tuesday as one of the final finalists for the Naismith National Player of the Year honors. The winner of the award will be announced on March 9.
Evans, who led the state of Indiana at 36 points a game, has signed with the Cardinals and will arrive on campus in May. She's the frontrunner for Indiana Miss Basketball and averaged 36 points, 7.6 rebounds. 6.2 assists and 4.5 steals a game as a senior. She scored over 30 points in 21 of 26 games and had 50-plus points in two games.
Evans finished her career with 2,832 points, good for fifth all time on the Indiana girls state scoring list.
