Zach Rodgers is just from across the river and knows a lot about the University of Louisville football program.
The standout fullback from Floyd Central, Ind., High School attended the Cardinals' win over Wake Forest in November and was back on campus over the weekend for U of L's Junior Day event.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Rodgers said he's been in communication with the U of L staff.
"That was the first basketball experience," said Rodgers, noting the staff took the prospects to the men's hoops win over Virginia Tech. "I have talked with the coaches before but I was able to talk with (running backs coach Kolby) Smith during the whole visit.
"I talked with coach (Bobby) Petrino and coach (Dave) Boller at the end of my visit. It was a great day."
Rodgers said he was visiting Miami of Ohio on Monday and has also been in contact with Ball State, Indiana and Purdue among several others. He missed time during his junior season with a leg injury but averaged 8.5 yards a carry.
Rodgers said he feels like he has built a "very good relationship" with the U of L coaches and will make a return trip soon.
