Lakeland (Fla.) Jenkins defensive end Jordan Domineck, who has been in communication with the Louisville coaching staff for nearly a year, will take his relationship with the Cardinals program to the next level this weekend. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete will be among a large group of prospects visiting U of L this weekend for the program's Prospect Day on Saturday.
In addition to spending time with the coaching staff and touring the program's facilities, Domineck also hopes to learn more about the academic offerings of the school.
"I will be attending this weekend," he confirmed to Cardinal Authority. "I want to know all about the Louisville experience mostly and to know how extensive their medical academy is."
U of L assistant Nick Petrino has been in contact with 2018 prospect for "a pretty long time."
"He's been sending me regular updates on the school and the team," he said. "It started during the spring of my sophomore year."
During their frequent discussions, Petrino has explained what the two-time first team All-County selection could do to land a scholarship offer from Louisville.
"He has talked to me about how to get the offer," Domineck explained. "They want me to increase my size as well as my speed."
Central Florida, Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Vanderbilt have already extended scholarship offers to Domineck, who says that "the process is starting to pick up a lot going into the spring season."
In addition to his weekend trip to Louisville, upcoming trips to Vanderbilt and Tulane are also on his schedule.
