Highly-sought after offensive tackle holds a Louisville scholarship offer

Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Siegel offensive tackle Maxwell Iyama has been busy visiting interested colleges in recent weeks with his latest stop at Louisville on Saturday.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect make the drive from his home east of Nashville to check out the Cardinals program facilities, learn more about the school's academic offerings, visit with the coaching staff and attend the men's basketball game.

"It was great," he said.  "The facilities is what stood out the most.  I like what I learned about the academics and that they have a 95 percent graduation rate - I thought that was awesome.  I really liked the fan base and how they support the team.  I had never been to a basketball game like that and that really stood out."

Iyama has held a scholarship offer from the Cardinals since last November and has been under strong consideration ever since.

"I was really excited when I received that offer," he said.  "It got me hyped up and motivated me to work even harder because it let me know that I could play at a great place like that."

Following his visit, Iyama announced his current top five favorites, all of which have extended an offer.

"My top five is Memphis, Tennessee, Louisville, Georgia and South Carolina," he said, adding that he hopes to make his college decision "sometime in the spring."
