With already double digit offers in his pocket, Nashville, Tenn., Franklin Road Academy 2019 playmaker Lance Wilhoite is starting to make a few trips to check out some of the schools on his list.
On Friday, Wilhoite was at the University of Louisville and maybe left a little surprised.
"Louisville had a lot to offer from the facilities, the coaches and the community to the classroom," Wilhoite said. "The visit was great."
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Wilhoite was at Tennessee the week before and holds offers from U of L and the Volunteers, along with LSU, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Memphis and others.
Wilhoite said he doesn't have any favorites but noted the Louisville staff did a good job of making him want to return.
"I feel like I really hit it off with coach Lonnie Galloway," Wilhoite said. "I really enjoyed our conversations and I also loved when I got to talk to coach (Bobby) Petrino just to talk football, man-to-man."
But Wilhoite, who was named all-district as a sophomore at wide receiver, said he had one moment at U of L that really stood out.
"My highlight was when I met the Heisman Trophy winner - Lamar Jackson," he said. "That was a highlight."
