It's been a wild few weeks for Wyatt Smock.

The Louisville St. Xavier offensive lineman has picked up major steam in the recruiting process, landing offers from Louisville, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Murray State and Eastern Kentucky.

On Saturday, Smock made a visit to one of those schools. But he didn't attend Junior Day at the University of Louisville just to check out the campus, which is just a few minutes away from his high school.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound spent time with the U of L staff trying to build a stronger relationship with new offensive line coach Mike Summers.

"It was an awesome time," Smock said. "I talked with coach (Bobby) Petrino for about 20 minutes about my future there. And coach Summers is my man. He's got to be the best teacher in the game.

"Coach Petrino talked to me at halftime, we got to know each other. I like him a lot."

Smock, who performed well at the Best of the Midwest Camp last month, said he plans on returning to U of L's campus in the future. He also has a visit set up for March 18 to Vanderbilt.
