Louisville swimmer Mallory Comerford won the NCAA title in the 200 freestyle, tying with Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky

INDIANAPOLIS - Louisville swimmer Mallory Comerford won the NCAA title in the 200 freestyle, tying with Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky in the NCAA championships at the IU Natatorium.

The University of Louisville scored another victory in Indianapolis on Friday night.

Not only did the men's basketball team win in the NCAA Tournament but just down the street U of L swimmer Mallory Comerford picked up one of the biggest wins in school history.

Comerford tied for an NCAA Title in the 200 freestyle, tying with Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky and just head of Simone Manuel, another Olympic gold medalist, with a time of 1:40.36 the IU Natatorium.

Comerford, a sophomore from Kalamazoo, Mich., chased down Ledecky and made up a half a second deficit. The two tied and set the pool record. Manuel had the early lead but finished third.
