University of Louisville football signee Russ Yeast made a visit to campus on Wednesday and checked out the Cardinals spring practice.

Russ Yeast can't wait to get on campus at the University of Louisville.

And a visit to watch the Cardinals spring practice on Wednesday afternoon made him even more anxious. The U of L signee from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Ind., spent three hours on campus watching the practice.

"I really liked what I saw," Yeast said. "I'm ready to get to work."

Yeast will arrive on campus in late May.

An Under Armour All-American, Yeast was named Indianapolis Player of the Year and was named a first-team All-State selection and the Indiana Player of the Year by USA Today Sports. He was also selected Gatorade Player of the Year for Indiana and was tabbed Johnson County Offensive Player of the Year in his only season at Center Grove.

Yeast finished with 2,561 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns. He was named Mr. Football runner-up for the state of Indiana.
