Cardinals are only undefeated team in ACC play

Louisville baseball continues its week long road trip with a visit to NC State this weekend

No. 1 Louisville suffered its defeat of the season, falling 6-3 at rival Cincinnati on Tuesday.  The team will continue with its first true road trip of the season this weekend, heading to Raleigh, N.C. to face ACC rival NC State.

EKU meeting rescheduled

Louisville's rained out visit to Richmond to face Eastern Kentucky has been rescheduled.

The game will now be played on Tuesday, April 25 at 3 p.m., ET at Earle Combs Stadium.

The Cardinals defeated the Colonels 19-3 earlier in the season and hold a 66-48-1 all-time series lead over EKU.  U of L has won nine straight against the in-state foe.

Back-2-Back

Louisville junior Brendan McKay was selected as the ACC Pitcher of the Week once again.

McKay was also chosen for the honor last week following a 15 strikeout performance in the team's ACC-opening win over Pittsburgh.

He was selected again after striking out 12 in seven shutout innings to move to 4-0 on the season in a win over Boston College.

ACC

Through two weekends of ACC play, Louisville remains the lone undefeated team in league competition.  The Cardinals have benefited from sweeps of the two division cellar dwellars - Boston College and Pittsburgh - but will see a climb in difficulty during the remainder of the season.

Trailing U of L by just a game, No. 6 Clemson holds the second best league and overall record. The Tigers, which took two of three against Virginia last weekend, hosts Boston College for a three-game set this weekend.

No. 10 North Carolina leads the Coastal Division and will host Miami this weekend.
