The University of Louisville baseball team had 17 hits and tagged Western Kentucky 11-1 on Tuesday night at Jim Patterson Stadium.

The University of Louisville baseball team won its 12th straight game against an in-state foe on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals pounded out 17 hits and had seven pitchers combine for a six-hitter on a staff night out of the bullpen in an 11-1 victory over Western Kentucky University on Cancer Awareness Night at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Shane Hummel pitched 3.1 innings and allowed four hits and one run to get his second win of the season. Sam Bordner and Michael McAvene worked perfect innings out of the bullpen, while Rabon Martin and Bryan Hoeing allowed one hit apiece.

Shay Smiddy and Chandler Dale combined to get the final three outs.

At the plate, Brendan McKay and Ryan Summers had three hits apiece and both scored two runs.

Devin Hairston was 2-for-5 with two RBIs, while Colin Lyman and Tyler Fitzgerald had two hits apiece and both also had an RBI.

U of L is now 22-2 on the season.
