With 16 players taken in the NFL Draft in the past five years, the University of Louisville football Pro Day has become a popular stop for a lot of NFL scouts in recent years.
And Thursday was no different.
The Cardinals had 19 former players workout with 30 of 32 NFL teams in attendance for the event. The only player who didn't graduate this season was former kicker John Wallace, a member of the 2015 team who also worked out for the scouts.
"It's pretty cool to be here with all the guys again," outside linebacker Devonte Fields said.
Added wide receiver Jamari Staples: "This was nice to be here and be comfortable with the other guys around."
The fastest 40-yard dash time of the day went to wide receiver Gio Pascasio, who clocked a 4.46 40.
Defensive lineman DeAngelo Brown did the most reps in the bench press with 34, while tight end Cole Hikutini had a 10-foot broad jump. Another tight end Keith Towbridge surprised some scouts with a 4.69 40.
Cardinal Authority will have stories on many of the top players who competed during the event.
