Former University of Louisville running back Brandon Radcliff admitted he was down a bit after not getting an invite to last month's NFL Combine where seven of his former teammates were able to compete.
But that just made him motivated for Thursday's Pro Day at Louisville.
"It was fuel for my fire," he said. "I felt like I could go there and compete with those guys. It would have put me on a level playing field but that's OK. When I didn't get the invite, it just gave me fuel to go out there and get a little better."
The 5-foot-9, 220-pound Radcliff told Cardinal Authority he thought his pro day went "excellent."
"I felt really good out there," he said. "I felt today was pretty productive. I worked hard and whatever my results were out here I feel comfortable with them. I just wanted to show them that I am an all-around back."
Radcliff ran a 4.51 40-yard dash, according to one scout in attendance. He said after the Citrus Bowl he started training in Miami and it was "like 100 days and 100 nights grind."
"I got right to it and I think the hard work paid off today," Radcliff said.
As a senior, Radcliff ran for 903 yards and six touchdowns for the Cardinals. He finished his career with 2,365 yards and 26 TDs.
