The University of Louisville football staff is recruiting more and more on the West Coast.
The Cardinals have been in the mix with some of the top players on the West Coast in recent classes and on Wednesday night the staff made an offer to elite tight end Camren McDonald.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound McDonald is a tight end from Long Beach, Calif., Poly and is ranked as the No. 5 tight end in the country and overall the No. 105 prospect by Scout.com.
"I know they like pass-catching tight ends," McDonald said. "They produced two great tight ends this year."
McDonald said his main contact so far as been defensive quality control coach Mike Bruno, noting that he would like to see the campus. He has 18 scholarship offers after the one from the Cardinals.
Among the top schools in the mix for his services are USC, UCLA, Arizona, Washington, Miami, Florida and California.
For his career, McDonald has 42 catches for 400 yards and seven touchdowns. He is related to former NBA player Ben McDonald.
