Tifton, Ga., Tift County High School wide receiver Rashod Bateman already had seven scholarship offers.
And then on Saturday, Bateman landed another from the University of Louisville.
"It's a blessing," Bateman said. "Louisville is my first big offer. I don't know as much about them because I didn't expect Louisville to offer."
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Bateman is also a standout basketball player. He announced on Twitter last night that he was planning to play basketball in college but was leaving his options for football open.
"You never know what is gonna happen," Bateman tweeted.
The other offers for football are from Coastal Carolina, Southern Mississippi, Georgia Southern, Samford, South Alabama, Troy and UNC Greensboro. In December, Bateman participated for the U.S. Under-18 National team.
