University of Louisville defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon has been recruiting the state of Tennessee hard since he arrived on campus in January. The former Tennessee Titans linebacker has a lot of connections in the Nashville area.
Sirmon has already had a bunch of top prospects from Tennessee on campus, including a few on Saturday.
One was Murfreesboro, Tenn., speedy wide receiver Michael Scruggs. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Scruggs ran a 10.58 in the 100-meter run last week and ran the fastest 40 time at The Opening at Cleveland over the weekend.
"It was nice," Scruggs said. "It was an unofficial just to watch the scrimmage. I didn't get a chance to talk to the coaches much."
Scruggs said he's also hearing a lot from Navy, Cornell, Arkansas State and Tennessee State.
As a junior, Scruggs had 11 touchdowns rushing, including a 99-yard TD and a 96-yard score.
