Former Scout Carolina defensive end Boosie Whitlow confirms with Cardinal Authority that he's transferring to Louisville

Former Scout top 100 defensive end Boosie Whitlow confirmed with Cardinal Authority on Monday that he'll transfer from South Carolina to Louisville.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Whitlow, who considered Louisville prior to committing to the Gamecocks in 2015, visited the Cardinals program the final weekend of March.  He spent much of that time getting to know the Cardinals rebuilt defensive staff and becoming reacquainted with the program.

"No doubt it's the place," he informed Cardinal Authority on Monday.

Whitlow, who also considered North Carolina and Troy, played in 12 games as a freshman in 2015 but did not see action last fall.  He registered 14 tackles and a sack as a true freshman.  Southern Miss and TCU were also among the programs to express interest in gaining his transfer.

"They gave me a second chance and I already knew a lot about them because I had been there before," he said.

Whitlow is a product of Opelika (Ala.) High School.
